Parasite celebrates over a century of research

2024 marks an important milestone for Parasite, as the journal enters its second century of publishing.

Parasite began publishing high quality papers on all aspects of human and animal parasitology in 1923 as Annales de Parasitologie Humaine et Comparée (discover the first issue) before evolving into its globally recognized current name in 1994.

Annual Congress of the French Societies of Parasitology and Medical Mycology

We are pleased to report that the “Congrès des Sociétés Françaises de Parasitologie et de Mycologie Médicale” (Congress of the French Societies of Parasitology (SFP) and Medical Mycology (SFMM)) will take place in Marrakech, Morocco from 24 to 27 May 2023. The Congress is being organised by the Société Marocaine de Mycologie Médicale. As the international journal of the SFP, Parasite takes a keen interest in this annual event which will focus on "One Health" this year.

New CiteScore for Parasite shows a significant increase

Following the release of the latest CiteScores by Scopus, we are pleased to report that the 2021 CiteScore for Parasite is 4.5 – an increase from 4 in 2020. It is now ranked 51/448 in Animal Science and Zoology and 25/172 in Insect Science (Q1). We are happy to see the high-quality content published by Parasite in open access continuing to make an impact in the parasitology community and proud of the journal’s continued growth.

Meet Jean-Lou Justine, Editor-in-Chief, at the annual meeting of the Société Française de Parasitologie

Little by little, face-to-face events seem to be getting underway again. All being well, it is hoped that the joint annual conference of the Société Française de Parasitologie and the Société Française de Mycologie will take place in person in Lyon on 28 and 29 October 2021. Participants are invited to extend their stay in the region to enjoy the delights of Lyon and Saint-Etienne. Technical arrangements have, however, been put in place in case it is necessary to switch to a virtual format.

3.000 – Parasite celebrates its 2020 Journal Impact Factor increasing by a full point in one year

We are extremely pleased to announce that Parasite's 2020 Impact Factor has increased again and reached its highest level since the journal was launched in 2013. For the first time, Parasite's impact factor has reached 3.000 increasing from 2.050 last year. It is now ranked 13 in 38 in the category “Parasitology”.
