2024 marks an important milestone for Parasite, as the journal enters its second century of publishing.
Parasite began publishing high quality papers on all aspects of human and animal parasitology in 1923 as Annales de Parasitologie Humaine et Comparée (discover the first issue) before evolving into its globally recognized current name in 1994.
The journal is the international, open access journal of the Société Française de Parasitologie, and is highly-valued by the scientific community. It maintains a consistently high Impact Factor and CiteScore year on year, and in 2021 the journal was awarded the DOAJ seal for demonstrating demonstrating “best practice in open access publishing”.
As a society journal, Parasite actively supports the scientific community. Editor-in-Chief Jean-Lou Justine contributes regularly to key events, such as the upcoming Annual Congress of the French Societies of Parasitology and Medical Mycology, held this year in Angers, France.
Speaking of the anniversary, Jean-Lou shared his delight that Parasite “continues to go from strength to strength. The research published in each issue contributes to significant advances in the discipline and the entire editorial team are extraordinarily proud to reach this milestone. Here is to the next century of publishing!”
In celebration of the anniversary, Parasite articles will all display a specially designed logo.
