Comparison of LSVs from MS spectra of the wings, legs, and thoraxes of the two Glossina subspecies obtained through query against the homemade MS reference database. Triangles represent MS spectra identified as G. f. quanzensis, and circles represent those identified as G. p. palpalis. Solid circles and solid triangles represent MS spectra with identifications consistent with morphological identification of Glossina subspecies. Empty circles and empty triangles indicate spectra for which identifications were cross-referenced with morphological identification. The dotted line indicates the threshold for reliable identification (LSV > 1.8). Abbreviations: LSV, logarithmic score value; a.u., arbitrary units.
