Experimental progression from F2 to F4 generation in the transovarial transmission of B. ovis by R. bursa. F2 larvae were cycled through rabbit and sheep hosts to produce infected adult ticks. Molecular screening of 100 F3 adults confirmed B. ovis infection and the absence of T. ovis. Resulting F4 larvae were successfully generated for subsequent transmission experiments.
