Specificity and sensitivity of Entamoeba gingivalis-specific primers. Agarose gel-resolved products from single-round PCR using 1 ng E. moshkovskii, 1 ng E. histolytica and 100 fg–100 ng E. gingivalis patient #0 DNA. Amplification was not obtained in control without matrix (H2O), E. moshkovskii, E. histolytica and up to 10 pg patient #0 DNA.
