Abstract
A new genus, close to Maritremopsis Deblock, 1973 and Quasimaritremopsis Deblock, 1973 (Microphallidae : Maritrematinae) is described. Its distinguishing characteristics are : a simple genital atrium ; linear vitelline glands composed of small follicles which extend mainly as a broad, equatorial and pre-testicular band with short extensions along the lateral margins of the mid or hind body ; short vitelline ducts ; and a uterus which occupies most of the hind body with two medium-sized loops extending into the space between the caecal arch, cirrus pouch and vitellaria.
Distinguishing characteristics of the new species are : medium in size ; a short oesophagus ; short caeca ; a muscular and broad cirrus pouch ; and a uterus coiled in a regular series of rayed loops along the margin of the hind body.
