Interactions of two associated parasitosis in the Rat: Plasmodium berghei and Strongyloides ratti

Lors d’une association Plasmodium berghei-Strongyloides ratti, chaque parasite peut modifier l’évolution de l’autre. Ce retentissement dépend des périodes respectives de contamination et de l’intensité du parasitisme influent. Il consiste en une inhibition de la Protozoose ou en une intensification de l’helminthose.
L’infection palustre, lorsqu’elle est forte, déclenche deux phases d’hypercorticostéronémie ; la plus importante se situe au pic de la parasitémie. Ces hypercorticostéronémies réactionnelles à un paludisme grave permettent d’interpréter les variations d’une strongyloïdose associée. Ils peuvent être considérés comme l’un des éléments inducteur de la dépression immunologique qui se produit au cours du paludisme des rongeurs.
Abstract
When Plasmodium berghei and Strongyloides ratti are associated, each one of these parasites can modify development of the other one. This repercussion is subordinated to the respective periods of contamination and strength of influential parasitism. It lies in an inhibition of Protozoosis or intensification of helminthiasis.
When severe, palustral infection releases two hypercosticosteronemy phases; the more important one is situated at the peak of the parasitemia. These hypercorticosteronemiae reactions to a severe malaria enable the interpretation of the variations of an associateds trongyloïdiasis. They may be regarded as one of the inducer elements of immunological depression which takes place in the course of malaria in rodents.
