Hepatocystis carpenteri n. sp. parasite d’Hypsignathus monstrosus au Gabon se différencie d’Hepatocystis epomophori et d’Hepatocystis brosseti, parasites d’autres Megachiroptères africains par la morphologie et la taille de ses schizontes intrahépatiques : H. carpenteri a une taille beaucoup plus grande et possède une paroi d’aspect spongieux qui n’a jamais été rencontrée chez d’autres Hepatocystis.
Abstract
Hepatocystis carpenteri n. sp. parasité of Hypsignathus monstrosus in Gabon is different from Hepatocystis epomophori and Hepatocystis brosseti, parasitic in other African Megachiroptera. H. carpenteri has bigger intrahepatic schizonts and a wall with a spongy appearance which has not been seen in other Hepatocystis.
