Errecart (1945) a proposé une modification de la technique de la goutte épaisse pour le diagnostic de la maladie de Chagas. Nous avons appliqué cette modification au paludisme des mammifères : la morphologie des parasites sanguins est bien conservée et nous permet l’identification de l’espèce, celle-ci n’étant pas souvent possible dans les gouttes épaisses ordinaires.
Abstract
Errecart (1945) proposed a modified technique for making thick films for the diagnosis of Chaga’s disease. We applied his technique to the study of malaria in mammals ; the morphology of the blood parasites is very well preserved and allows the identification of species which are frequently not identifiable in ordinary thick films.
