Gongylonema pithyusensis n. sp. (Nematoda : Spiruridae), parasite œsophagien du Lérot Eliomys quercinus ophiusae Thomas, 1925 (Rodentia : Gliridae) à Formentera (Baléares)
Gongylonema pithyusensis n, sp. (Nematoda : Spiruridae), a parasite of the oesophagus of the dormouse Eliomys quercinus ophiusae Thomas, 1925 (Rodentia : Gliridae) in Formentera (Balearic Islands)

Description de Gongylonema pithyusensis n. sp., Nématode parasite de la muqueuse-œsophagienne du lérot Eliomys quercinus ophiusae Thomas, 1925 à l’île de Formentera (Baléares, Espagne). Le mâle de la nouvelle espèce se caractérise par la taille des spicules et du gubernaculum ; la femelle, par la morphologie de la queue, la position très postérieure de la vulve et les dimensions des œufs. Il s’agit de la seule espèce de Gongylonema connue parasitant des Rongeurs de la famille des Gliridae.
Abstract
A new Nematode, Gongylonema pithyusensis n. sp., parasitizing the œsophagus mucosa of the dormouse Eliomys quercinus ophiusae Thomas, 1925 in the balearic island of Formentera (Spain) is described. The male of the new species is characterized by the size of spicules and gubernaculum ; the female by the morphology of the tail, the posteriour situation of the vulva and the dimensions of the eggs. It is the only Gongylonema species to be known parasitizing Rodents of the family Gliridae.
