Neopolystoma euzeti n. sp., parasite de la vessie urinaire et du rectum de la tortue d’eau douce Clemys caspica var. leprosa en Tunisie, se caractérise principalement par le nombre élevé d’épines génitales (33 à 36) et l’extension très importante des vitellogènes. Il s’agit de la première espèce du genre Neopolystoma Price, 1939, décrite sur le continent africain, les précédentes étant connues d’Amérique du Nord, du Japon et de Sibérie Orientale.
Abstract
Neopolystoma euzeti n. sp., a parasite of the urinary bladder and the rectum of the freshwater tortoise Clemys caspica var. leprosa in Tunisia, is mainly characterized by its genital spines in high number (33 to 36) and the very important extension of the vitellaria. It is the first species of the genus Neopolystoma Price, 1939, to be described in Africa, the others being known from North America, Japan and Eastern Siberia.
