Résumé

Oceanicucullanus pacifica, Schmidt et Kuntz 1969, présente en réalité une bouche formée par 3 lèvres réduites et une capsule buccale munie de 3 petites dents, comparables à Chitwoodia chitwoodae, Lê văn Hoà et al. 1971. Par conséquent, nous considérons le genre Chitwoodia synonyme de l’Oceanicucullanus et rangeons ce dernier dans la famille Oceanicucullanidae, nomen novum pro Chitwoodidae Lê văn Hoà et al. 1971. Le genre contient actuellement 2 espèces : O. pacifica et O. chitwoodae.

Abstract

Additional informations on the morphology of Oceanicucullanus Schmidt and Kuntz 1969 show that the genus is similar to Chitwoodia Lê văn Hoà et al. 1971 in various characteristics which include the presence of three reduced lips and three minute teeth in the buccal capsule. Consequently, these two genera are considered synonymous. Oceanicucullanus is now placed in the family Oceanicucullanidae nomen novum pro Chitwoodidae Lê văn Hoà et al. 1971. The specific differences between O. pacifica Schmidt and Kuntz 1969 and O. chitwoodae Lê văn Hoà et al. 1971 are discussed.
