Abstract
The study of the still unknown life-cycle of Nephridiophaga forficulae (Léger, 1909) leads us to think that the infestation of Malghipian tubes in Forficula auricularia L. starts from the haemocoele. Plasmodia move through the Malpighian epithelium to invade the lumen of the tubes thanks to an intensive asexual multiplication giving birth to uninucleate elements. Some plasmodia coming from those elements turn into uninucleated and thick-walled spores which once evacuated may infest other Forficula.
