Tenorastrongylus n. gen. (Nematoda, Heligmosomatidae) a parasite of Muridae.
Abstract
A definition of the genus Tenorastrongylus (Nematoda, Heligmosomatidae) is given. It is characterised mainly by its four dorsal left cuticular ridges being highly developed. To date three species are to referred to this genus: T. parvulus (Desset, 1966) typespecies, T. hokkaidensis (Chabaud, Rausch et Desset, 1963) and T. afghanus (Tenora, 1959).
This genus seems to be restricted to the Muridae, but it is rather widely distributed in the world.
