Le genre Mesostephanus Lutz est caractérisé par la possession d’un sphincter vaginal.
Sont mis en synonymie :
Holostephanus neophroni Mehra, H. thaparus Vidyarthi et H. elongatus Gupta = H. calvusi (Verma) ;
Mesostephanus indicum Mehra, M. lutzi Vidyarthi, M. neophroni Baugh, et Prohemistomum odhneri Mehra nec Travassos = P. indicum (Mehra) ;
Gogatea incognitum Baugh = G. serpentium (Gogate).
Abstract
The genus Mesostephanus Lutz is characterized by the presence of a vaginal sphincter.
