Evaluation of specific sIgA responses in mucosal washes from intranasal vaccinated mice. Groups of BALB/c mice received different doses of rTgPGAM 2 or PBS vaccine on days 0, 14 and 21. Two weeks after the last inoculation, nasal, intestinal and vaginal washes were collected to evaluate sIgA titres by ELISA. The levels of sIgA in nasal washes (A), intestinal washes (B) and vaginal washes (C) were elevated in mice nasally immunised with rTgPGAM 2 compared with vaccination with PBS. The results are expressed as the mean of the OD492 ± SD (n = 10) and representative of three experiments. *P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01 (vaccinated vs. PBS group).
